Job Overview

Barfield Inc is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to enhance our Quality Department.

This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal Aviation Regulations and the specifications set forth by manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an updated repository of essential FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Type Certification Data Sheets, and Airworthiness Directives.
  • Conduct regular checks on all inspection tools and testing equipment, ensuring any items past their recertification date are promptly removed from service.
  • Verify that no defective or unserviceable parts are utilized in any components or articles released.
  • Inform the Director of Quality regarding any issues that necessitate a malfunction or defect report, ensuring timely filing by the designated station.
  • Perform final acceptance inspections on all incoming materials, including new parts and supplies, ensuring airworthiness of externally serviced articles.
  • Execute preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all items processed, documenting results as per the established manual.
  • Oversee the correct tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the operational manual.
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts are managed to prevent their use as serviceable components.
  • Maintain organized files of completed work orders and inspection forms for easy retrieval and review.
  • Monitor that all Life-Limited products, such as adhesives and lubricants, are not retained beyond their designated usage dates.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of FARs.
  • Experienced with inspection methodologies, tools, and equipment necessary for determining the airworthiness of articles.
  • Capable of performing inspections on maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations conducted on articles.
  • Adept at utilizing mechanical, electronic, and visual inspection aids.
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 series standards.
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the aviation sector.
