Barfield Inc. is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to enhance our Quality Department's efforts in maintaining high standards within the aviation sector.

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal Aviation Regulations, as well as the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an updated repository of essential FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Type Certification Data Sheets, and Airworthiness Directives.
  • Conduct regular checks on all inspection tools and testing equipment, ensuring any items beyond their recertification due date are removed from service. Maintain accurate records of these inspections and tests.
  • Verify that no defective or unserviceable parts are utilized in any components or articles released by the shop.
  • Inform the Director of Quality regarding any situations that necessitate the filing of a malfunction and defect report, ensuring compliance with prescribed timelines.
  • Oversee the final acceptance of all incoming materials, including new parts and supplies, ensuring the airworthiness of articles serviced externally.
  • Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all articles processed, documenting results as per the established manual.
  • Ensure proper tagging and identification of all parts and components in accordance with the manual.
  • Manage the handling of rejected and unserviceable parts to prevent their use as serviceable items.
  • Maintain organized files of completed work orders and inspection forms for easy retrieval and review.
  • Ensure that all Life-Limited products, such as adhesives, sealants, and lubricants, are not retained beyond their designated expiration dates.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Proficient in inspection methodologies, tools, and equipment necessary for determining the airworthiness of articles or units.
  • Experience in conducting inspections on maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations performed on articles.
  • Ability to utilize mechanical, electronic, and visual inspection aids effectively.
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 series standards.
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the aviation industry.
