CHENEGA CORPORATION

The Quality Control Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the quality assurance framework and ensuring that subcontractors adhere to a robust quality management system that aligns with contractual obligations. This position entails the independent administration of the quality control program, empowering the manager to coordinate necessary rework for any non-compliant tasks while maintaining accountability for achieving performance goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize extensive knowledge of quality assurance methodologies to manage a diverse array of project tasks. Design, implement, and sustain a Quality Control program that is customized to meet contract specifications and covers all operational aspects. Generate required inspection reports and documentation to substantiate findings. Conduct inspections of ongoing and completed work to identify discrepancies in line with the Quality Control Plan and contractual stipulations. Develop audit schedules, activity plans for quality assurance, and comprehensive audit reports (both internal and external), documenting nonconformities and confirming effective corrective measures. Collaborate with project management to create an orientation program that ensures project teams understand the Project Quality Plan and related quality issues. Serve as a quality auditor, following up on audit outcomes and corrective actions by implementing a structured control process. Communicate all issues, challenges, achievements, and results from inspections, meetings, and observations related to contract performance to the Project Manager. Apply advanced expertise in quality assurance principles across various project assignments. Plan and carry out a range of technical and administrative tasks; effectively engage with department and project personnel regarding quality assurance policies and practices. Leverage work and educational experience to enhance knowledge and proficiency. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. At least five (5) years of experience in developing and enforcing quality control programs for design/build construction projects, particularly in large military facilities. Certification in Army Corps of Engineers/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Previous experience in Military and/or Contingency Operations is preferred. Familiarity with Quality Control/Assurance software is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook. Understanding of the Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) and adherence to established procedures. Knowledge of various construction trades, including plumbing, carpentry, pipefitting, and painting. Awareness of accepted standards of workmanship in the construction and maintenance of facilities and systems. Familiarity with government contracting terminology and applications. Understanding of environmental considerations related to contractual obligations. Proficient in the use of standard office equipment, including copiers and computers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to foster a positive team environment and interact professionally with diverse individuals. Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.

Physical Requirements

The role may require regular sitting, talking, or hearing. Repetitive motions involving arms, wrists, hands, and fingers may be necessary. Occasional walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision capabilities may include close vision.
