Clinical Operations Coordinator

The Clinical Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the effectiveness, compliance, and reporting of clinical programs. This position acts as a clinical resource within the organization, fostering interprofessional collaboration and advancing program goals. The coordinator is accountable for achieving program outcome deliverables related to quality, safety, accessibility, patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role is aligned with professional nursing standards and ethical guidelines.
Clinical Resource Responsibilities:
- Acts as a clinical resource for healthcare teams and leadership.
- Facilitates the creation of practice guiding documents (policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, etc.) by effectively utilizing organizational governance structures.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging evidence and best practices pertinent to the clinical program and patient demographics.
- Engages in and ensures precise data collection related to the clinical program, including process and patient outcome measures.
- Analyzes data to identify trends and ensure the achievement of program objectives.
- Responsible for presenting outcomes/data in various formats and venues.
- Identifies potential risks and escalates issues as necessary to mitigate or resolve them.
- Leads and manages a coordinated approach to quality measurement and improvement initiatives.
- Utilizes Lean methodologies and various QAPI tools.
- Actively participates in QAPI projects.
- Works with senior leadership to establish and develop strategic goals and plans.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to gain insights into workflows, resources, and relevant information.
- Participates in research initiatives related to the clinical program or patient population as applicable.
- Serves as a liaison to the broader healthcare community and external credentialing organizations.
- Coordinates preparation materials and documentation for regulatory site visits as needed.
- Collaborates with stakeholders in process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in projects as a subject matter expert.
Position Compensation Range: $71,000 - $115,190.40 Annual
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program; Master’s degree in a related field within four years of hire.
Experience: A minimum of three years of progressive and relevant clinical nursing experience is required.
Licensure: Must hold a current registered nurse license to practice in the State of Virginia. Specialty Board Certification is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
This position primarily involves sedentary work with extensive use of desktop computers and may require occasional travel. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential; attention to detail and legible writing ability are required. The role may involve exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
