Senior Clinical Research Coordinator

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior Clinical Research Coordinator within the Department of Pediatrics. This position is designed for an experienced professional who will take on a leadership role within a vibrant research team dedicated to advancing pediatric health through clinical research.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will:
- Provide expert guidance to Principal Investigators in areas such as grant applications, budget oversight, and ensuring adherence to research compliance standards.
- Assist in the formulation of clinical trial protocols and manage the submission of necessary documentation to regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the execution of clinical trials, ensuring all aspects are conducted in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with department management and Principal Investigators to strategize and analyze research portfolios.
- Manage the financial aspects of clinical research projects, including budget creation and account reconciliation.
- Lead a team of Clinical Research Coordinators, focusing on staff development, performance evaluation, and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate training and orientation for new faculty, fellows, and medical students involved in clinical research.
- Compile and prepare documentation for audits, ensuring the quality and accuracy of submissions.
- Engage in institutional research-related working groups or lead initiatives aimed at process improvement.
- Conduct data analysis and literature reviews, contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years in clinical research, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility. Advanced degrees may substitute for some experience.
- Licensure: Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is required within one year of hire.
Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves sedentary work with extensive use of computer systems. Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings and programs.
