SUMMARY: The Groundwater Program Specialist (GPS) provides high-level management assistance for the groundwater initiatives and operational activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct independent assessments of groundwater remediation programs, ensuring adherence to both federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in the evaluation and technical analysis of documents related to groundwater contamination and source areas, focusing on compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Ensure that all project safety measures and regulatory documentation are thorough, precise, and dependable for submission to oversight bodies.
  • Oversee operations related to groundwater management, including monitoring, sampling, and maintenance of wells.
  • Perform on-site evaluations concerning groundwater initiatives and provide expert feedback on project activities.
  • Deliver detailed technical oversight to avert programmatic failures and evaluate the effectiveness of groundwater operations.
  • Support the preparation and review of various reports, including technical assessments and regulatory documentation.
  • Collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders, including government agencies and environmental organizations, to enhance program activities.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks and opportunities through comprehensive program reviews.
  • Maintain regular attendance and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as soil science, water treatment, geology, or hydrogeology.
  • Over ten years of relevant experience in groundwater and soil remediation, including project management and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient writing skills with a proven track record in program support, analysis, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Access.

Compliance with safety protocols and conflict of interest regulations is mandatory.
