Job Title: Business Development Manager

Overview:

As a Business Development Manager at Wayfair, you will be responsible for owning, managing, and growing a book of business. Your book will consist of business customers in various industries, including office, property management, contractor, interior design, and accommodations. In this role, you will establish new relationships, prospect new business, and grow existing accounts through proactive sales outreach. You will leverage sales and service partners to support the customer journey and their relationship with Wayfair Professional.

This role requires a high level of collaboration, adaptability, ownership, and the ability to achieve high sales and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Sales Portfolio: You will be responsible for effectively maintaining and growing your book of business quarter over quarter by applying the Wayfair sales process and managing a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Build Rapport and Influence Sales: Conduct engaging conversations through phone and email outreach with the objective of growing customer relationships through repeat sales and a continuous pipeline of opportunity.
  • Meet a High Performance Bar: You will meet or exceed all sales metrics, including revenue and productivity goals.
  • Provide a Top-Tier Customer Experience: You will support customer experience from enrollment through mature customer relationships as they expand their business with Wayfair Professional.
  • Effectively Time Manage: Schedule appointments and assist customers with purchasing from the Wayfair Professional site leveraging strong product knowledge, sourcing, and industry expertise.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on Wayfair Professional's comprehensive value, product, and service capabilities.
  • Collaborate: Effectively work alongside peers, partners, and suppliers to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Problem Solve: Exhibit a problem-solving, solution-driven mindset in all situations.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador: Embody the Wayfair People Principles as a North Star in all your work to provide a first-class customer experience.
Requirements:
  • Location: This is a work-from-home position where you will be working virtually.
  • Sales Experience: 1-3 years of previous outbound sales experience with previously demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs or performance metrics.
  • Book Management: 1+ year of book management experience (B2B sales preferred).
  • B2B Knowledge: B2B sales knowledge, strong business acumen, and ability to execute project needs analysis.
  • Adaptability: You must have a willingness to adapt and grow in a fast-paced, high-growth industry.
  • Ownership: Taking ownership for driving your professional and sales development plans to remain aligned with the business expectations.
  • Effective Communications: Strong command of written and verbal communications to drive your performance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with email, video conferencing, CRM, and spreadsheets (Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Google Suite, Zoom/Google Meet, and previous experience working remotely are all preferred qualifications).
  • Schedule Adherence: If not located in Eastern Time Zone (ET), you must be able to commit to logging on at your time zone equivalent of 8AM ET.
  • Training: Wayfair wants to ensure your success, which is why our sales training is 100% mandatory. We are unable to accommodate any absences, time off, or tardiness during this initial time frame.
Benefits:
  • Pay: This position has a performance-based compensation structure that includes a base salary range estimate of $32,000 - $38,000 per year with specifics determined by geography and cost of living considerations. You may also be eligible to earn uncapped quarterly bonus based on your performance, range of earnings to be discussed during the interview.

  • Tuition Reimbursement: Full-Time Employees who have worked at Wayfair for at least six months are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement for pre-approved courses from an accredited, post-secondary institution up to a maximum of $5,250 per year.
