Position Overview:

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role as an engineering and manufacturing expert for our clients across various projects that necessitate knowledge in product design and development. Your expertise will be utilized across a diverse client portfolio spanning multiple industry sectors, including aerospace and automotive, as well as other defense industries. You will lead initiatives surrounding new technologies and methodologies while collaborating with clients to define their future engineering and manufacturing strategies. The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with designing, implementing, analyzing, and reviewing the processes and procedures integral to manufacturing and quality assurance.

As an essential member of the Client Customer Engagement Team, you will be responsible for achieving key milestones and meeting deliverable timelines. This role necessitates direct interaction with project teams to ensure adherence to aggressive timelines and the delivery of effective solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and review part production processes, schedules, methods, and data to understand future requirements for customer manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct and evaluate design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risks.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers and clients to ensure compliance with AIAG / AS9145 PPAP standards.
  • Oversee suppliers' execution of PPAP documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to schedules.
  • Prepare and present professional documentation of technical data, analyses, and reports.
  • Review manufacturing instructions and processes to identify opportunities for enhancing customer efficiency.
  • Develop documentation outlining technical and process strategies, including changes and analyses.
  • Contribute to the technical execution of projects focused on Industry 4.0, Digital Factory, Model-Based Enterprise, Advanced Manufacturing, and Additive Manufacturing.
  • Facilitate feedback between customers and the client team to drive continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with project/program management, technical teams, and customers to deliver on agreed plans and timelines.
  • Validate suppliers' production test run data to confirm key performance indicators (e.g., Cpk, run-at-rate).
  • Demonstrate ownership of issues as they arise and initiate corrective actions.
  • Manage deliverables and execute tasks according to schedules with minimal oversight.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to establish a PPAP schedule and ensure accountability for meeting deadlines.
  • Work with end-user groups to assess and resolve technical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in GD&T.
  • Experience with the assembly and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace components.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and cost considerations.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience in editing and controlling PFMEAs and Control Plans.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed; estimated travel up to 50%, depending on client requirements.
  • Understanding of PPAP processes through PPAP Level 5.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
