Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of manufacturing processes and the successful launch of new products at Dynamic Metals LLC. This position is essential for the continuous enhancement of existing products while adhering to quality management systems and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between customers and suppliers to address quality-related inquiries and issues.
  • Utilize statistical data to drive quality improvements by determining appropriate testing methodologies and sample sizes.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customer-required Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), as well as review supplier submissions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality challenges, employing recognized problem-solving techniques such as 8-D, 5-Y, and others. Engage in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and efforts to reduce scrap.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards.
  • Support the maintenance of the ISO quality management system.
  • Implement and monitor statistical process controls.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, literature, networking, and participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Exhibit safe work practices consistently.
  • Keep workspaces and equipment organized and clean.
  • Stay current with training and job-specific requirements.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Safety Guidelines / Required Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety glasses with side shields as necessary.
  • Steel-toed or metatarsal safety footwear as required.
  • Gloves, earplugs, and other protective gear as needed.
  • Fire retardant clothing and respiratory protection as required.
  • Seat belts must be used on all forklifts.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with ISO/TS-16949 or AS9100 quality compliance standards.
  • Experience with AIAG quality standards and methodologies, including APQP, GD&T, and statistical analysis.
  • Nadcap experience in areas such as heat treatment, machining, welding, or non-destructive testing is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of experience in quality engineering, or a high school diploma with at least seven years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace quality assurance sector is a plus.
