Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance program or project quality management processes to support product quality advancements.
  • Spearhead the creation, maintenance, and execution of quality strategies that align with customer expectations.
  • Lead teams of engineers, technicians, and inspectors in quality initiatives.
  • Drive process and product enhancement projects across various functional areas.
  • Analyze program specifications and prepare comprehensive quality plans, procedures, timelines, and resource distributions to ensure optimal quality support.
  • Review and endorse engineering/test and contractor documentation, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Formulate and implement structured quality management processes, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Organize, monitor, analyze, and report on product and process information.
  • Provide continuous quality system support, including conducting internal audits and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Lead product quality improvement teams and manage Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards.
  • Assess and manage non-conforming materials.
  • Offer technical guidance to Assembly/Test/Inspection teams, including executing improvement plans and developing inspection criteria.
  • Serve as the primary interface for customers and senior management in addressing quality concerns and driving corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives both internally and with suppliers.
  • Evaluate critical supplier selections and lead continuous improvement processes, including conducting on-site audits and reviewing supplier corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality program requirements.
  • Monitor development activities to guarantee adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Create new procedural controls to address all facets of quality programs.
  • Generate statistical reports on inspection activities and results, recommending actions as necessary.
  • Establish programs to assess the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment.
  • Manage the financial implications of quality process controls and inspections.
  • Uphold and promote the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Participate in relevant customer, business, or program meetings.
  • Prepare detailed quality engineering reports and recommendations.
  • Mentor and guide junior quality engineers.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and status.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while meeting technical specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the field.
  • Strong technical expertise and domain knowledge.
  • ASQ certification or Black Belt is preferred.
  • Proficient in ISO Standards, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to interpret military specifications and read technical drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Certification as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a plus.

U.S. Citizenship is required. This position necessitates an active DOD security clearance or the capability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable timeframe after starting employment.
