Currently, we are seeking a Proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. This role will report directly to the Quality Manager.

The quality team at Trimble operates in a fast-paced global environment, offering a hybrid work model and flexible hours.

The primary objective of this position is to ensure proactive quality throughout the new product development lifecycle for electronic components and related hardware essential for machine guidance systems.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert in risk management pertaining to both the design and manufacturing of electronic hardware components.

Expertise in facilitating Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is essential, and the Quality Engineer will be expected to lead and train others in conducting FMEA sessions with diverse, cross-functional teams.

This role involves refining methodologies and providing training within the organization regarding FMEA tools.

The Quality Engineer will take on a leadership role and be a vital contributor to project teams, overseeing the implementation of the Proactive Quality Strategy.

Key responsibilities include evaluating and communicating quality risks associated with hardware development projects to relevant stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills are crucial for success in this position. The challenges include collaborating with cross-functional teams that have varied technical and cultural backgrounds, fostering creativity, facilitating teamwork, and effectively communicating requirements and tasks while integrating feedback from team members.

Key Responsibilities:
Implement the Proactive Quality Strategy by engaging with hardware development project teams. Support the development and enhancement of the Quality Strategy through risk management techniques. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to mentor project teams on risk management tools (including but not limited to; FMEAs, boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, risk assessments, etc.). Manage concurrent projects and initiatives within Trimble. Facilitate necessary change management processes. Incorporate insights from product analytics into risk management tools. Integrate the Supportability Strategy into component development using risk management tools. Contribute to component-level requirements for system supportability. Facilitate risk-based Verification and Validation planning and execution in collaboration with project managers. Work together on component and system risk management based on outcomes from Current Product Improvement projects. Update and present Quality Metrics for active projects during reviews, including Quality Dashboards, Risk Scorecards, and Carry Over Analyses. Maintain risk management templates and project review dashboards utilized for hardware component projects.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with a strong understanding of quality assurance principles.
