Job Summary

The Meat Service Counter Manager is a key member of our Meat Department team, responsible for leading and coaching our Meat Service Counter Clerks to deliver an exceptional shopping experience to our guests. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of perishable department operations and merchandising principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and Coach the Meat Service Counter Team: Provide guidance and support to our Meat Service Counter Clerks to ensure they are meeting our high standards for guest service and department performance.
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Provide consistent, thorough, and continuous training to new and current service counter associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Create and Manage Schedules: Create weekly work schedules for the service counter team to ensure adequate coverage and meet business needs.
  • Support Department Goals and Objectives: Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to achieve department goals and objectives, including sales growth, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and Improve Department Standards: Ensure all department standards are being met on the meat department sales floor, including product presentation, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate regularly with the Meat Department Manager and other meat associates to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing and sanitizing work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
Qualifications
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead and coach a team, communicate effectively with guests and associates, and provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Knowledge of Perishable Department Operations: Thorough understanding of perishable department operations, including inventory management, product presentation, and customer service.
  • Merchandising Principles: Knowledge of merchandising principles, including visual merchandising, inventory management, and sales growth strategies.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide exceptional customer service, including greeting guests, answering questions, and resolving issues.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 80 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures.
