Position Overview
The Meat Processing Specialist is tasked with the management of meat and meat-related products. This role involves receiving, processing, cutting, trimming, scraping, packaging, tying, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and labeling meat items. The Specialist is expected to exemplify exceptional customer service skills.
- Process, prepare, and package meat products in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations concerning meat operations, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure that proper temperatures are upheld in coolers, preparation areas, freezers, and display cases, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Keep adequate supplies of meat products available.
- Maintain optimal conditions in display cases, including cleaning, stocking, organizing, and rotating products.
- Work towards achieving financial objectives such as maximizing sales and gross profit while minimizing shrinkage and supply costs.
- Guide team members in executing action plans and achieving goals.
- Encourage sales through friendly and attentive customer service.
- Reduce shrinkage through proper handling and storage of products.
- Provide assistance to other stores as needed when staff members are unavailable.
- Travel Requirements: None.
- Store: Grocery Warehouse (Temperatures ranging from 50°F to 90°F).
- Specialized Knowledge: Sufficient understanding of various meat cuts and their preparation.
- Special Skills: Proficiency in reading, writing, and performing basic mathematical functions; accurate vision is essential.
- Physical Abilities: Involves occasional climbing, balancing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, tasting, and smelling; frequent lifting and pushing of loads up to 80 lbs; constant standing, walking, and lifting/carrying loads up to 100 lbs, along with reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and exposure to temperatures as low as 30 degrees.
- Other: Ability to operate various equipment including knives, computerized scales, case cutters, bandsaws, patty machines, marking guns, grinders, cubing machines, pallet jacks, wrapping machines, balers/compactors, walkie stackers, tie machines, slicers, and sausage makers.
- 0-2 years of experience in preparing different cuts of meat in retail environments.

- 1st Shift (United States of America).
