Role Summary:
The Junior Brand Strategist is integral to shaping and executing the marketing strategies aimed at consumers. This role requires exceptional project management capabilities, enabling the individual to independently oversee projects at various stages. Adaptability is crucial, as the strategist must modify plans and strategies in response to evolving circumstances, including logistical challenges and management directives.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Senior Brand Manager and collaborates with upper management to propel strategic initiatives and implement marketing plans that foster the rapid expansion of our diverse product lines. The Junior Brand Strategist serves as a vital link among sales, finance, operations, and our internal creative teams, including Creative, Insights, Media, and Public Relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee elements of the annual brand strategy process and ensure the successful implementation of marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with our in-house creative team to establish creative, media, and public relations strategies, guiding marketing and creative initiatives.
  • Prepare execution briefs and provide constructive feedback to the creative agency.
  • Assist the Brand Manager in crafting presentations for senior leadership, utilizing storytelling techniques.
  • Analyze brand performance using various data sources, tracking essential success metrics related to marketing efforts.
  • Work cross-functionally with trade and sales teams to deliver creative, analytical, and ad-hoc support; present findings to cross-functional partners.
  • Manage ongoing packaging updates and point-of-sale projects, coordinating closely with sourcing, print production, and product development teams.
  • Oversee the marketing campaign budget, including tracking expenses and processing invoices.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of P&L, trade economics, and promotional strategies while managing the marketing budget for specific programs.
  • Utilize external resources to stay informed about competitive dynamics, market trends, and global events, applying these insights to enhance brand strategy and innovation.
  • Represent the brand at trade shows and events, setting up displays and engaging with potential customers.
  • Facilitate packaging modifications from concept to retail shelf by collaborating with sales, operations, and product development teams.
  • Develop point-of-sale materials in partnership with the creative agency and sales teams.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant marketing experience or an MBA with 2-3 years of work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related discipline.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data, preferably IRI or ACNielsen.
  • Experience in developing marketing collateral, including physical point-of-sale displays, packaging, and event materials.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce, packaging, advertising, promotions, and merchandising is essential; basic copywriting and graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
  • Exhibits strategic thinking and intellectual curiosity.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills to provide data-driven insights.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, including the ability to create creative briefs.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills and a commitment to executional excellence, with a focus on detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate networking across divisions.

Compensation:
Pay range is competitive and may include a discretionary bonus, with final compensation based on skills and experience.
