Position Summary: We are seeking a Social Media Strategist to refine and implement WhatsApp's social media strategy within our Content Studio. This role is pivotal in steering the strategic creation and execution of social media content across all WhatsApp platforms, aimed at reinforcing the WhatsApp brand among users and communities globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management and execution of the social media strategy in collaboration with both internal and external creative teams.
  • Ensure all social media content aligns with WhatsApp's global strategy and adheres to best practices, delivering innovative and culturally relevant content.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Insights, Analytics, Communications, and Media Delivery teams to ground all initiatives in a thorough understanding of community needs, ensuring data-driven outcomes.
  • Act as a guardian of the WhatsApp brand, ensuring our editorial agenda is effectively promoted and protected.
  • Possess a deep understanding of what resonates with WhatsApp users and communities, ensuring that developed content maximizes impact.
  • Analyze community, media, and market trends to inform strategic and creative content development.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, branding, or content creation for international brands.
  • A comprehensive understanding of WhatsApp's unique role across diverse geographical regions.
  • Proven experience in crafting and executing creative, innovative, integrated social media content.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and collaborate within complex organizational structures.
  • Strong presentation skills, with experience engaging large audiences and leadership stakeholders.
  • Creative mindset coupled with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the technology sector, particularly with product or feature launches.
  • Background in crisis management and response.
  • Familiarity with social listening, performance analytics, and community management.
