Position Title: Assistant Professor in Organizational Psychology

Department Overview:

The Psychology Department at California State University is home to a dedicated team of tenure-track faculty and lecturers, serving a diverse body of over 1,400 undergraduate students and more than 50 graduate students. Our department is equipped with individual research spaces, a psychological services clinic, computer laboratories, and technical support, fostering an environment conducive to both teaching and research. We maintain strong collaborations with community partners and educational institutions, promoting equity, health, and well-being through our academic endeavors.

Position Summary:

This is a full-time, tenure-track role at the Assistant Professor level in the field of Psychology. The successful candidate will engage in teaching and research that emphasizes inclusivity and diversity, particularly within the Latinx/e community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses related to industrial-organizational psychology.
  • Develop and maintain a robust research agenda that includes student involvement and respects diverse perspectives.
  • Participate in curriculum development discussions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Supervise graduate students in their academic pursuits.
  • Provide academic advising to a diverse group of psychology majors.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, university, and community service initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution, with ABD candidates considered.
  • Evidence of a developing research program focused on work-related psychological topics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Experience in engaging with diverse communities, particularly the Latinx/e community.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching industrial and organizational psychology courses at the collegiate level.
  • Interest in developing courses in psychological testing and talent management.
  • Training in diverse teaching methodologies that incorporate equity and social justice.
  • Experience with community-engaged learning and research partnerships.
