DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
Information Systems & Business Analytics (MIS Concentration)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The College of Business is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor role in Management Information Systems within the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics.

As a recognized Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), Sacramento State is focused on hiring faculty who will enhance our commitment to supporting Latinx/e student success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver graduate and undergraduate courses in Management Information Systems and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Engage in ongoing scholarly activities, emphasizing the publication of peer-reviewed articles.
  • Participate in institutional and community service initiatives.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Supervise research conducted by both graduate and undergraduate students.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctorate in a Management Information Systems-related field is required.
  • ABD candidates will be considered, with the expectation to complete the doctoral degree within a specified timeframe.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Latinx/e student success through excellence in teaching, effective service, or research focused on the Latinx/e community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctorate from an AACSB-accredited business program or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with the business sector.
  • Experience working with a diverse student body.
  • Record of research and publications in peer-reviewed venues.
  • Capability to teach online courses and develop research projects for graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Experience in managing large class sizes.
