Department Overview:
The Psychology Department at California State University Sacramento is home to a diverse team of 29 tenure-track faculty members and numerous lecturers, serving a vibrant community of over 1,400 undergraduate students and more than 50 graduate scholars. Our department is equipped with dedicated faculty research spaces, a psychological services clinic, advanced computer laboratories, and technical support facilities, fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence.
Role Summary:
This is a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology. The successful candidate will engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring, focusing on both undergraduate and graduate courses in the discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Exhibit a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
2. Instruct courses in industrial-organizational psychology at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
3. Develop and maintain a robust research agenda in industrial and/or organizational psychology.
4. Collaborate in the ongoing development of the industrial-organizational psychology curriculum.
5. Supervise Master's level students in their academic pursuits.
6. Provide academic advising to a diverse group of undergraduate psychology majors.
7. Contribute to departmental, college, university, and community service initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution, with ABD candidates considered.
- Evidence of a developing research program focused on work-related psychological topics.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and mentoring of diverse student populations.
- Proven engagement in professional development aimed at supporting diverse communities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural academic environment.
Preferred:
- Previous teaching experience in industrial and/or organizational psychology at the collegiate level.
- Interest in teaching specialized courses such as psychological testing and talent management.
- Training in diverse teaching methodologies that promote equity, inclusion, and social justice.
