Position Description:
The Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of California Davis Health is actively seeking a Board-Certified or board-eligible abdominal transplant surgeon specializing in Kidney or Liver Transplantation.

This full-time faculty role is designated at the Assistant Professor level within the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Faculty members in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence, teaching, research, and community service. Those in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series will focus on teaching, professional activity, scholarly endeavors, and public service.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic Division of Transplant Surgery within the Department of Surgery, which performs approximately 350 kidney transplants and 60 living donor nephrectomies each year. There is also the potential to contribute to the development of a newly established UNOS-approved liver transplant program.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (required at time of application):
- Medical Degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Surgery
- Strong interest in clinical outcomes or basic research related to organ preservation, reconditioning, and modulation using ex vivo machine perfusion or transplant immunology
- Excellent clinical skills for performing living and deceased donor adult and pediatric kidney and liver transplantation, as well as deceased donor multi-organ recovery and minimally invasive living donor nephrectomy.

Additional Qualifications (required at time of start):
- Must obtain a California Medical License prior to the start date
- Completion of an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited fellowship program

Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in Pancreas Transplantation is advantageous but not mandatory.
