Position Overview

The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Family Studies and Human Development. Candidates should possess an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Family Studies, Family Life Education, or Human Development. Those who are ABD (All But Dissertation) from accredited programs may also be considered, provided that all degree requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.

Licensure Requirements

Applicants must hold a current license as a Counselor in their home state or be eligible for licensure in California (LMFT; LCSW; LPCC).

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Family Studies, Family Life Education, Human Development, or a closely related discipline from an accredited program.
  • ABD candidates will be considered, contingent upon completion of all degree requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach college-level courses to a diverse student body.
  • Proven track record or potential for conducting scholarly and/or applied research.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and incorporate diversity issues into the curriculum.
