Company Overview: CDW is seeking a skilled senior cybersecurity engineer who is passionate about security and possesses extensive knowledge in the cybersecurity domain.

Role Overview: In this position, you will enhance security by safeguarding system boundaries, fortifying computer systems and network devices against threats, and protecting sensitive information. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in cybersecurity and systems engineering.

Expertise in Security Tools: Familiarity with tools such as CyberArk, Cloud Lock, Proofpoint, McAfee, Trend Micro, and various scanning and penetration testing tools is essential. Experience with additional security tools is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee the organization’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and monitor security protocols to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
  • Advise the IT team on strategies to safeguard the organization from cyber threats.
  • Plan and execute security measures to monitor and protect sensitive information.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and security evaluations.
  • Lead governance and risk management initiatives, including tracking and reporting.
  • Supervise security operations and mentor junior security team members.
  • Implement the information security strategy as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Identify and establish security requirements to safeguard sensitive organizational data.
  • Design security architecture and create detailed cybersecurity designs.
  • Document standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.
  • Develop innovative solutions and new security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Prepare detailed reports that include findings, outcomes, and recommendations for enhancing system security.
  • Collaborate with the Risk and Information Security team, the ISS team, and other departments to promote security awareness.
  • Support the implementation of policies and parameters to optimize security technologies.
  • Create standard operating procedures to operationalize security functions and guide security operations, Help Desk, and other support areas.
  • Establish reporting measures to assess the effectiveness of security technologies.
  • Integrate security controls at the architecture and system/network levels for both new and existing technologies.
  • Assist in developing security controls to prevent, detect, or rectify risks.
  • Participate in projects and provide guidance or recommendations as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer.
  • Experience in building and maintaining security systems and implementing security tools.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of security concerning networking, databases, and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
  • Experience with network security technologies and monitoring tools.
  • Thorough understanding of current security principles, techniques, and protocols, including global privacy regulations and industry-specific frameworks.
  • Highly skilled in evaluating the security posture of network and system environments and providing corrective recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO, Cybersecurity Framework, and other security industry standards.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service-Oriented Architectures) and network/web protocols.
  • Background in proposal development and leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • The selected candidate will respond to incidents, providing incident response support, forensic analysis, and other relevant skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently, as part of a team, and lead security-specific initiatives.
  • Experience: 8+ years in security or 10+ years in security-related work.
  • Certifications: CISSP or equivalent security industry certification.
