Position Overview
The Senior Cybersecurity Incident Response Engineer is tasked with meticulously documenting security incidents, evaluating the extent of damage incurred, and identifying the underlying causes of such incidents. This role is pivotal in spearheading proactive threat hunting initiatives aimed at identifying and mitigating potential risks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience, knowledge, and expertise in the field, and will typically set their own work priorities while serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly document security incidents, evaluate the damage they inflict, create a detailed incident timeline with supporting evidence, ascertain the root cause of the incident, and offer remediation recommendations.
- Engage in proactive threat hunting initiatives to uncover risks and anomalies within the environment. Analyze alerts generated from behavior-based detection systems.
- Remain informed about current threat intelligence trends and news, disseminating information regarding new vulnerabilities and campaigns through security bulletins.
- Maintain libraries of detection rules and develop requirements for Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) procedures and playbooks.
- Provide escalation support to the Security Operations Center and offer mentorship to junior analyst teams.

- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Education
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred; however, Comcast may also consider candidates with a combination of relevant coursework and experience, or those with substantial related professional experience.
Experience
