Job Overview

Phoenix Cyber is seeking skilled Python engineers with a focus on security to assist in the development of tailored plugins and integrations for a commercial cybersecurity software solution. The role encompasses the design, development, and implementation of data models, indexing structures, and storage methodologies. Responsibilities include the ingestion and indexing of data, transforming and normalizing it to adhere to common standards using log aggregation tools such as Elasticsearch and Splunk, enriching data upon ingestion, and executing queries against large datasets.

Position Details:

This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work-from-home arrangements across the continental United States.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of robust experience in Python programming
  • Proficient in creating and developing Python libraries
  • Experience with REST and SOAP APIs for querying and updating data across various third-party applications
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and other development tools
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and networking within AWS and/or Azure
  • A degree in a STEM field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SOAR tools such as Swimlane, Cyber Triage, or Phantom
  • Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK), Kafka, Beats, and/or Splunk
  • Experience in database modeling (both relational and non-relational), particularly with MongoDB
  • Configuration management experience using Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with container services like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Linux administration skills
  • Active (ISC)2 CISSP certification
