Company Overview

CDW is seeking a skilled and experienced senior cybersecurity engineer who is passionate about safeguarding systems and possesses extensive knowledge in the security domain.

Role Overview

In this position, you will enhance security measures by fortifying system boundaries, ensuring computer systems and network devices are resilient against threats, and protecting sensitive information. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in both security and systems engineering.

Key Security Tools: Familiarity with CyberArk, Cloud Lock, Proofpoint, McAfee, Trend Micro, and various scanning/penetration testing tools is essential. Experience with additional security tools is advantageous.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee the organization's cybersecurity framework.
  • Design, implement, and monitor protective measures for computer systems, networks, and data.
  • Advise the IT team on strategies to safeguard the organization from cyber threats.
  • Plan and execute security protocols to monitor and protect sensitive information.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk evaluations, and security audits.
  • Lead governance and risk management initiatives, including tracking and reporting.
  • Oversee security operations and mentor junior security team members.
  • Implement the information security strategy as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Identify and establish security requirements to safeguard sensitive organizational data.
  • Design security architecture and develop comprehensive cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Create and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure components.
  • Develop innovative solutions and new security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Prepare detailed reports that include assessment findings, outcomes, and recommendations for enhancing system security.
  • Collaborate with the Risk and Information Security team, ISS team, and other departments to promote security awareness and practices.
  • Support the implementation of established policies and parameters to optimize security technologies.
  • Develop operational procedures to streamline security functions and provide guidance to security operations and support teams.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security technologies.
  • Integrate security controls at both architecture and system/network levels for new and existing technologies.
  • Assist in the development of security measures to prevent, detect, or address risks.
  • Participate in projects, providing guidance and recommendations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining security systems and deploying security tools.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of security in relation to networking, databases, and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
  • Experience with network security technologies and monitoring tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current security principles, techniques, and protocols, including global privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Highly skilled in assessing the security posture of network and system environments and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO, Cyber Security Framework, and other security industry standards.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service-Oriented Architectures) and related protocols.
  • Experience in proposal development and leadership roles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
  • The successful candidate will respond to incidents, providing incident response support, forensic analysis, and other relevant skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently, collaboratively, and lead security initiatives.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in security or 10 years in security-related roles.
  • Certifications: CISSP or equivalent security certification is required.
