Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a broad spectrum of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and scope of the role, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Additionally, employees are eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

As a member of the Enterprise Technology Solutions team, you will be part of a strategic and collaborative group dedicated to enhancing our business and technology capabilities, paving the way for top-tier solutions.

In your role as a Senior Architect focused on Claims, you will work closely with Technology and Business leaders, leveraging your expertise in modern technology to drive innovation and develop impactful solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design of event-driven architectures that facilitate swift responses to business changes and opportunities, thereby enhancing organizational agility and competitiveness.
• Architecting scalable event-driven systems that accommodate business growth and expansion, ensuring that the infrastructure can manage increasing transaction volumes and user interactions without sacrificing performance.
• Creating event-driven solutions that promote personalized, responsive, and seamless interactions across various channels.
• Implementing event-driven workflows that optimize business processes, minimize operational bottlenecks, and enhance efficiency, resulting in cost savings and increased productivity.

What Will You Do?
  • Collaborate with Claims and technology leadership to establish architectural priorities and direction to support business objectives.
  • Promote modern architectural principles and technology modernization.
  • Drive ongoing technology transformation to mitigate technical debt.
  • Partner with engineering teams to align skills with technology direction and execute technology proofs.
  • Analyze industry and technology trends to harness advancements.
  • Lead and define technology proofs of concept to validate architectural solutions.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of innovative technology solutions.
  • Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
  • Align IT initiatives with the target state architecture.
  • Communicate architectural direction and its alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Optimize talent strategy to ensure an appropriate balance of resources.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent, with over 6 years of experience in technology architecture.

Event-Driven Architecture:
  • Lead the design and modeling of events and workflows for microservices.
  • Develop robust event processing mechanisms.
  • Ensure scalability and high performance of event-driven architecture.
  • Integrate with event brokers and messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis).
  • Implement monitoring and logging for event flows.
  • Possess a deep understanding of event-driven design patterns, including event sourcing, CQRS, and pub/sub models.
  • Have hands-on experience with event brokers and messaging systems.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms and cloud data technologies.
  • Extensive experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or substantial cloud architecture experience.
  • Experience in developing technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Experience in technology modernization, including cloud-native migration and API strategy.
  • Hands-on experience within the last 3 years.
  • Good understanding of security.
  • Experience in agile operating models and insurance technology.

What is a Must Have?
  • A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • Six years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a line of business or enterprise area.
