Compensation Overview: The annual base salary range for this position is competitive and reflects a nationwide market range. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including the role's complexity, location, and the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additionally, employees may be eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $223,900

As a Senior Architect within Enterprise Technology Solutions, you will join a strategic team focused on enhancing our business and technology capabilities, driving the development of top-tier solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure APIs that align with business needs and industry standards.
  • Establish and uphold API standards, best practices, and governance policies to ensure uniformity, security, and performance across all API implementations.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to development teams, promoting a collaborative atmosphere and ensuring high-quality API solutions.
  • Monitor and enhance API performance, scalability, and security, implementing safeguards against vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

What Will You Do?

  • Collaborate with leadership in Claims and technology to set architectural priorities that support business objectives.
  • Advocate for modern architectural principles and technology upgrades.
  • Drive ongoing technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Partner with engineering teams to align skills with technology direction and execute technology proofs.
  • Analyze industry trends to leverage advancements effectively.
  • Lead technology proof of concepts to validate architectural solutions.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of innovative technology solutions.
  • Define target state technology architecture and develop roadmaps.
  • Align IT initiatives with the defined architecture.
  • Communicate architectural direction and its alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Optimize talent strategy to ensure a balanced resource allocation.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience with 6+ years in API architecture.

API Expertise:

  • Proficient in REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
  • Experienced with API management platforms such as Apigee, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, and Kong.
  • Knowledgeable in OAuth, JWT, API keys, and SAML.
  • Skilled in API design and documentation tools like Stoplight, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and RAML.
  • Proficient with API performance monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, and Prometheus.
  • Experienced in integrating APIs with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiar with API testing tools including Postman, SoapUI, and Junit.
  • Understanding of event-driven API architecture.

Technical Skills:

  • Established strategic technology direction and architectural vision.
  • Developed technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Executed cloud-native migration and API strategies.
  • Deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, Azure) or significant cloud architecture experience.
  • Good understanding of security and large-scale platforms.
  • Experience in agile operating models and insurance technology.
  • Proficient with Git and familiar with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data technologies.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a business or enterprise area.
