As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape for the Bond & Specialty Insurance Surety Unit of a prominent global corporation.

Reporting directly to a senior member of the Enterprise Technology Services leadership team, you will collaborate closely with top technology executives to enhance our existing business and technological capabilities, paving the way for innovative and efficient solutions.

Your contributions will be vital as you assist senior Technology and Business leaders in defining a target state, creating roadmaps, and identifying cutting-edge technologies that will revolutionize and optimize operations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow as an inspired Architect under the guidance of a mentor. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of developing high-quality enterprise solutions.

You are results-oriented, equipped with robust engineering skills and a comprehensive understanding of contemporary technologies, including Cloud-native solutions, APIs, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Integrity is paramount; you should be someone who challenges the status quo when necessary while prioritizing understanding and collaboration.

As part of a community of architecture leaders, you will help establish and refine a cohesive architectural vision.

What Will You Do?
  • Oversee architectural responsibilities within a significant segment of Technology Architecture supporting the Bond & Specialty Insurance Surety business unit.
  • Lead technology proof of concepts to validate the feasibility of architectural solutions.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of innovative technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering to implement proof of technologies.
  • Provide architectural guidance for engineers in alignment with technical patterns.
  • Exhibit strong thought leadership in the pursuit of modern architectural principles and technology modernization.
  • Drive ongoing technology transformation to reduce technical debt.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technological advancements through analysis of key industry and technology trends to evaluate their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Participate in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the established target state.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Initiate engagement with business partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent, with over 4 years of technology engineering experience.
  • Experience in an agile operating model.
  • Demonstrated work in proof of concepts and technology.
  • Strong background in Software Engineering.
  • Support for technology target states and roadmaps aligned with short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Experience in insurance technology is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of value creation and business capability models.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • A passion for technology transformations.
  • Hands-on experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience executing technology modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native and API strategies.
  • Current familiarity with AWS.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or substantial architectural experience in Cloud.
  • Good understanding of security principles.
  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with data technologies in the cloud.
What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a relevant business area.
