Manager of Administrative Services

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Manager of Administrative Services to join our team. As a key member of our Institute for Community Health Innovation, this role will be responsible for overseeing research tracking, reporting, and administration functions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and other investigators to ensure effective management of research reporting and administrative tasks. Additionally, the Manager will collaborate with UAMS research support services to ensure compliance with grant funders' requirements. This position directly supervises a team of research administrative support specialists and leads coordination and collaboration among team members to deliver on project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee research tracking, reporting, and administrative processes within the Institute.
- Collaborate with the Director and other investigators to ensure adherence to research reporting and administration standards.
- Coordinate with UAMS research support services to meet grant funders' requirements.
- Directly supervise a team of research administrative support specialists.
- Lead coordination efforts among team members to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Manage high-level stakeholder relationships for the Director, both internally and externally.
- Oversee grants contract or business agreement processes, coordinating with all parties involved and ensuring the completion of necessary documents and reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of office manager/financial or administrative management experience OR HS Diploma plus eight (8) years of related experience and/or training.
- Strong knowledge of research administration, research tracking, and reporting procedures.
- Proficient in project management and team coordination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with grant administration, contract management, and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
