In the role of Accounting Analyst II, your responsibilities will encompass daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting tasks. You will manage reconciliations pertaining to the Bank's general ledger accounts, assist in the completion of financial reporting, and engage with both internal and external clients, as well as auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Reporting:
    • Prepare supporting schedules for the Quarterly Call Report
    • Compile the Quarterly FRY-8
    • Generate the Summary of Deposits
    • File the Weekly FR2900 Report
    • Handle Biweekly Tefra tax payments and the 945 annual return
    • Prepare and submit the Annual Sales Tax
  • Accounting Functions:
    • Examine daily G/L application balancing reports and rectify discrepancies
    • Investigate and resolve general ledger imbalances
    • Conduct general ledger reconciliations
    • Research reconciling items
    • Communicate reconciling items with relevant departments
    • Ensure follow-through to resolution
    • Manage recurring monthly and quarterly accounting entries
  • Support the Accounting Manager with general ledger, due from accounts, and internal accounts implementation and mapping modifications
  • Oversee Prepaid and Accrual additions, deletions, and monthly processing
  • Manage Lease Accounting additions and monthly processing
  • Coordinate with the Property Tax Consultant to ensure timely completion of annual appraisals and accurate tax accruals
  • Administer Fixed Asset Accounting:
    • Monitor for additions and disposals
    • Prepare monthly fixed asset depreciation entries using AvidAscend software
    • Compile roll forward of fixed assets
    • Act as the fixed asset liaison for internal auditors, external auditors, and examiners
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with various projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Experience in the banking sector is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
