In the role of Accounting Analyst II, you will undertake various accounting responsibilities on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This includes executing reconciliations related to the Bank's general ledger accounts, assisting with financial reporting tasks, and engaging with both internal and external clients, as well as auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Reporting:
- Compile Quarterly Call Report Supporting Schedules
- Prepare Quarterly FRY-8 documentation
- Generate Summary of Deposits
- File Weekly FR2900 Report
- Manage Biweekly Tefra tax payments and 945 annual return
- Complete Annual Sales Tax filings
- Accounting Functions:
- Analyze daily G/L application balancing reports and rectify discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve general ledger imbalances
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations
- Examine reconciling items
- Communicate discrepancies with relevant departments
- Ensure follow-through to resolution
- Process recurring monthly and quarterly accounting entries
- Support the Accounting Manager with general ledger, due from accounts, and internal accounts implementation and mapping modifications
- Oversee Prepaid and Accrual additions, deletions, and monthly processing
- Manage Lease Accounting Additions and monthly processing
- Coordinate with Property Tax Consultant to guarantee annual appraisals are completed and all taxes are accrued and paid
- Administer Fixed Asset Accounting:
- Track additions and disposals
- Prepare monthly fixed asset depreciation entries using AvidAscend software
- Generate roll forward reports for fixed assets
- Act as fixed asset liaison for internal auditors, external auditors, and examiners
- Assist the Accounting Manager with various projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting
- Experience in the banking sector is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
