Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a unique blend of technical skills, customer service expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a Customer Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support to our patients and prescribers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls from patients and doctors' offices, providing accurate and helpful information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Enter information into our database system to respond to patient inquiries, complete patient intakes, type new prescriptions, process refills, and check the status of orders.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team members, collecting data and creating detailed tickets to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with our lab team to prepare compounded medications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate exceptional phone skills, etiquette, and professionalism when interacting with patients and prescribers.
  • Utilize technology and information resources to provide First Call Resolution to customers, following established guidelines to ensure consistent service.
  • Exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues and provide creative solutions.
  • Assist and work with our team, including pharmacists, data entry, compounding technicians, and shipping personnel, to fulfill orders efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising pharmacists or leads, ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; licensed pharmacy technician through the CA Board of Pharmacy.
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail, specialty, or compounding setting.
  • Preferred experience with pharmacy software or other retail database systems.
  • At least 2-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Type at least 60 wpm.
  • Pass a drug screen test, background check, and pre-employment verification process.
  • Read, understand, and be compliant with HIPAA.
  • Proficient in CA pharmacy law pertaining to Pharmacy Technicians.
