Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for spearheading strategic initiatives and operational planning aimed at expanding outdoor recreation prospects for governmental entities. Collaborate with program leadership to establish business development priorities and oversee planning efforts to foster growth in targeted markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize market insights and industry knowledge to cultivate a robust business development environment.
  • Maintain CRM systems and manage engagement with potential clients, while defining a contemporary approach to capturing new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and conduct client demonstrations, develop presentation materials, and lead client briefings.
  • Continuously monitor competitive landscapes and market dynamics, implementing processes that bolster business expansion.
  • Track and manage qualified leads within the sales pipeline, driving capture initiatives and overseeing the complete sales cycle.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years in business development, sales management, or related fields, particularly within outdoor recreation and government contracting.
  • Proven track record of generating substantial revenue through state agency collaborations.
  • Experience in fostering relationships with state agencies and managing the business development lifecycle.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for enhancing client value and assessing associated risks.
  • Strong background in evaluating and executing projects across various timelines.
  • Experience in conducting product demonstrations and assisting clients in understanding software solutions for park management.
  • Proficient in crafting outcome-focused RFPs and contracts that enhance win probabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and technical delivery methodologies.
  • Capability to inform sales forecasts and manage a pipeline of prospective client opportunities.
  • Willingness to pursue continuous learning and apply insights from market research to support growth objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in both team-oriented and independent work environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
