Job Overview

This dynamic individual will oversee existing business relationships and explore new avenues within current accounts, while also identifying, pursuing, and securing new opportunities within their designated region. The role encompasses direct sales of the company's innovative transfection technology products and/or services across a geographic area that includes pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and governmental entities.

Geographic Focus: UK and Ireland

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or surpass established sales objectives for the designated region.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with current clients.
  • Identify and cultivate new account opportunities and successfully sell to these new clients.
  • Develop and implement a territory management strategy to optimize sales growth.
  • Promptly follow up on all sales inquiries.
  • Provide precise sales forecasts weekly using the CRM system.
  • Regularly update contact information and sales opportunities in the CRM.
  • Conduct thorough account research to comprehend the primary business lines and financial status of each account, identifying key decision-makers.
  • Effectively communicate the capabilities and advantages of MaxCyte technology.
  • Prepare quotations for MaxCyte technology offerings.
  • Coordinate and manage demonstrations of MaxCyte technology, collaborating closely with the applications team to ensure clear communication of the technology's value to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related field.
  • Based in the United Kingdom (preferably) or Ireland.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience in organizations that develop, market, and sell life science tools to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research sectors.
  • Experience in selling capital equipment (valued at $100K+) to pharmaceutical and biotech clients in Europe, with recent experience in capital equipment sales.
  • Demonstrated success in previous roles.
  • Strong customer network, particularly in protein production, cell therapy, immunology, cell biology, and high-throughput screening.
  • Excellent territory management skills and willingness to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time.
  • Well-developed qualification skills and a comprehensive understanding of the sales process, with the ability to advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Strong technical expertise in protein production, immunology, and cell-based assays.
  • Familiarity with transfection techniques and technologies.
  • Proven success in an entrepreneurial environment, capable of working independently with minimal supervision to achieve performance goals.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels within customer organizations, from bench scientists to executives.

  • Ability to respond constructively to feedback and implement positive changes based on coaching.

Compensation: Position is eligible for bonus, equity, and commission.
