Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive administration, coordination, and assessment of the human resources function within the organization. This position is responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing approved policies, procedures, and programs that safeguard both company and employee interests, in alignment with corporate HR policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the Human Resources and Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives to foster a secure, engaged, and compliant workplace.
  • Oversees employee relations to ensure uniform application of policies and procedures; provides guidance to managers during disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Organizes and manages all departmental activities, contributing to the development and management of departmental goals, objectives, budgets, and systems.
  • Leads recruitment efforts across all employee levels, including temporary and contract staff; collaborates with the talent acquisition team to craft and publish job advertisements; partners with managers to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checks and facilitates job offers; manages new employee orientations; oversees career development programs.
  • Conducts data analysis to enhance HR policies and processes, supporting informed organizational decisions.
  • Maintains departmental records and reports; participates in staff meetings and relevant seminars; updates organizational charts and employee directories.
  • Evaluates departmental initiatives against established goals, recommending new strategies, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement in departmental efficiency and service delivery.
  • Monitors and updates weekly, monthly, and annual key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Manages all aspects of talent management, including acquisition, onboarding, assessment, development, and performance management.
  • Oversees the annual compensation review process, providing recommendations for salary adjustments based on external market data and internal equity analysis.
  • Supervises payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance through appropriate auditing measures.
  • Facilitates effective communication throughout the facility, coaching leaders on appropriate messaging and ensuring follow-up on feedback received through meetings and surveys.
  • Serves as a key member of the global HR leadership team, engaging in strategic planning, analysis, and special projects as determined by the team.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven experience in managing payroll and other human resources programs.
  • Knowledge of local and national employment laws.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in human resources within the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Five years of HR management experience.
  • Certification as a Human Resources professional.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role oversees all departmental employees and is accountable for their performance management and hiring processes.

Work Environment

The employee will primarily work in an office environment as well as on the plant floor.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this position. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently needs to walk, stand, talk, and hear. Occasionally, the employee must lift or move office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds (15 kilograms).
