Role Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department Float Pool, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and formulating individualized care plans.
  • Implementing and evaluating care strategies while overseeing non-licensed team members.
  • Documenting patient assessments and care outcomes accurately.
  • Administering medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and care plans.
  • Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding treatment options.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
  • An Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • A valid Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or similar.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within the first year of employment.
  • NIH Stroke Certification within 60 days of hire.
