Role Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Float Pool, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Implementing and evaluating care strategies.
- Overseeing the care provided by non-licensed team members.
- Documenting patient assessments and care outcomes.
- Administering medications and performing treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Maintaining IV lines and administering fluids and medications.
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status changes.
- Providing educational resources to patients and their families.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
- An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- A valid Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within the first year of employment.
- NIH Stroke Certification within 60 days of hire.
