Role Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department Float Pool, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Implementing and evaluating care strategies while supervising non-licensed personnel.
- Documenting patient assessments upon admission and adjusting care plans based on patient responses.
- Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding treatments and care.
- Administering medications and performing necessary treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Ensuring accurate communication of patient information to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
- An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are required within specified timeframes.
