Role Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department Float Pool, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and developing tailored care plans.
- Implementing and evaluating nursing care, while supervising non-licensed personnel.
- Floating to various St. David's HealthCare facilities as needed.
- Documenting patient assessments and care outcomes accurately.
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Maintaining IV lines and managing fluid administration.
- Communicating effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status changes.
- Providing educational resources to patients and their families.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
- An Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 12 months of hire.
- NIH Stroke Certification within 60 days of hire.
