Role Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Float Pool, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and formulating individualized care plans.
  • Implementing and evaluating nursing interventions while collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Providing education to patients and their families regarding treatment options and care processes.
  • Administering medications and performing necessary medical procedures in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes.
  • Monitoring patient progress and communicating any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Ensuring continuity of care by providing detailed reports during shift changes.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
  • An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • A valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within specified timeframes.
