Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As the Engineering Equipment Operations Lead, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Strategically planning, organizing, and supervising maintenance activities for roadways and timber access routes.
  • Ensuring the effective utilization and upkeep of all engineering and construction machinery and tools assigned to your team.
  • Developing long-term operational plans and managing annual financial allocations.
  • Guaranteeing that program objectives are met within the designated budgetary limits.
  • Performing supervisory functions in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Operating heavy machinery and vehicles for tasks such as clearing, grading, and maintaining road surfaces, as well as managing traffic.
  • Acquiring necessary supplies for operations.

Qualifications

There is no specific duration of qualifying experience or training required. However, your resume must clearly demonstrate sufficient experience to support the SCREEN-OUT Element of: your capability to execute the duties of an Engineering Equipment Operations Lead with minimal supervision. Examples of relevant experience include:

  • Supervising the operation of gasoline or diesel-powered machinery such as road graders, bulldozers, and excavators in various terrains.
  • Planning daily tasks for crews and equipment, along with the methods for maintenance operations.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections on equipment and work sites.
  • Leading or training team members in the operation of engineering machinery.

Additional Requirements

This role necessitates the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. This license must be obtained before starting the position and prior to being assigned operational duties.

Physical and Working Conditions

The nature of this position involves both sedentary and physically demanding tasks. Physical activities may include lifting, walking, climbing, and operating heavy machinery. The incumbent must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License and meet all physical requirements to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate.

Work settings will vary between indoor office environments and outdoor field conditions, with potential exposure to extreme temperatures and various hazards.
