Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
As the Heavy Equipment Operations Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, organizing, and managing maintenance schedules for roadways and timber access routes.
- Ensuring the effective utilization and upkeep of all engineering and construction machinery and tools assigned to the team.
- Preparing and overseeing long-term planning and annual financial allocations.
- Guaranteeing that program objectives are met within the designated budget.
- Executing supervisory responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Operating heavy machinery and vehicles for various tasks including clearing, grading, and maintaining roads, as well as managing traffic.
- Acquiring necessary supplies for operations.
Employment Conditions
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

- Compliance with the Selective Service Registration Act is necessary for male applicants.

- Holding an active real estate license or having financial interests in firms with ties to Federal Lands is prohibited.

Qualifications
While there is no specific duration of qualifying experience or training required, your resume must clearly demonstrate sufficient experience to meet the SCREEN-OUT Element of: your capability to perform the duties of a Heavy Equipment Operations Supervisor with minimal supervision. Examples of relevant experience include:
- Supervising the operation of gasoline or diesel-powered machinery such as road graders, bulldozers, excavators, and water trucks in diverse terrains.
- Planning daily operations for crew and equipment, as well as establishing methods and procedures for maintenance tasks.
- Conducting preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections on equipment and work sites.
- Leading or training team members in the operation of engineering machinery.
Additional Requirements
This position mandates that the incumbent possesses and maintains a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements prior to assuming operator duties.
Physical Demands
The role involves both sedentary and physically demanding tasks. Physical exertion may range from office work to operating heavy machinery, requiring frequent lifting, walking, climbing, and bending. A valid Commercial Driver's License and the ability to meet all physical requirements for a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate are essential.
Working Environment
Work will be conducted both indoors in an office setting and outdoors. Conditions may vary from extreme temperatures to challenging driving situations. The incumbent may encounter various field conditions, including dust, noise, and other hazards associated with outdoor work.
