I. JOB PURPOSE


The Wastewater Treatment Facilities Engineer at Hanwha Q CELLS USA Corp. plays a crucial role in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of wastewater treatment systems within the solar panel manufacturing sector.

This position entails leading a team of operators, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, implementing effective maintenance strategies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of wastewater treatment facility operations.

Additionally, the engineer is responsible for budget planning and resource management to achieve cost efficiencies. This includes developing maintenance plans for equipment that prioritize cost-effectiveness and conducting efficient material management and procurement.

Moreover, the engineer promotes environmentally sustainable practices such as energy conservation and recycling to reduce operational costs and support sustainable business practices.

II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Must Have

  • Supervision and Team Management:

Management:

  • Lead a team of technicians in the operation and maintenance of facilities.
  • Oversee the deployment of personnel to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Provide regular updates to the Utility Team Leader regarding work progress and challenges.
  • Facilities Operation Management:

Management:

  • Monitor and enhance the operational performance of water treatment facilities (UPW, Water Recycle, and Water Transfer Systems) through daily, weekly, and monthly performance management (cost and quality).
  • Evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and create action plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive performance reports and suggest effective solutions for enhancements.
  • Facilities Maintenance Management:
  • Supervise routine preventative maintenance tasks on water treatment systems (UPW, Si-kerf Recycle, and Water Transfer Systems).
  • Oversee installations, modifications, upgrades, and repairs of plumbing, piping, and mechanical components.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance on facility equipment is conducted according to established schedules and SOPs.
  • Maintain records of equipment status, maintenance activities, and scheduled testing, including fire suppression systems.
  • Budget Formulation and Management:
  • Oversee the budget formulation for utility facility operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization.
  • Monitor and implement cost-saving initiatives to meet KPI targets.
To Be Trained

  • Inventory Management (Spare Parts, Chemicals, Consumables):

Management:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive spare parts management system.
  • Ensure the availability of critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct proactive inventory planning to maintain an adequate supply of chemicals for water treatment processes.
  • Anticipate chemical consumption trends and adjust stock levels accordingly.

Emergency Response and Compliance:

  • Respond to plant emergencies related to environmental failures, fires, or security incidents.

Training:

  • Deliver training and maintain training records for facility technicians.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety measures related to the operation and maintenance of utility facilities.

Others:

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant Certification:
  • Preferred certifications will be considered a plus.
  • Wastewater treatment operation certification approved by the appropriate regulatory authority (Preferred).

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within public or industrial water treatment, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of technicians.
  • Fluency in Korean is a plus.
