About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Operations Manager to join our team at Mazzella Service. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our crane service business, ensuring that our branch location meets company sales and budget objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the crane service budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  2. Business Growth: Proactively grow our service location's crane inspection contract base, as well as repairs and upgrades resulting from inspections.
  3. Team Management: Supervise all department personnel, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.
  4. Customer Service: Assist with the follow-up on active service and inspection repair quotes, ensuring timely and effective communication with customers.
  5. Sales Support: Provide sales support to maintain or grow existing customer relationships and gain new customers.
  6. Operational Efficiency: Monitor employee and technicians' work time for payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  7. Performance Management: Complete performance reviews, develop and manage employees, and authorize all expenditures handled directly by the service.
  8. Facilities Management: Ensure the maintenance, housekeeping, and general upkeep of the branch, as well as the maintenance of all vehicles, equipment, storage, and work areas used in the field and shop.
  9. Training and Development: Assist Service Writers in understanding completed inspection reports to formulate quotes, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma, vocational-technical school, or equivalent military experience or technical college training program preferred.
  • Experience: 4 years of experience involving administrative, customer service, or technical environments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Expert knowledge of the crane service industry.
  • Skills: Strong time-management skills, exceptional decision-making skills, effective strategic management skills, exceptional communication skills, ability to plan and delegate, and ability to devise strategic planning.
  • Certifications: Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify.
