The Mechanical Facilities Engineer will play a crucial role in managing the design, execution, and upkeep of Mechanical Utilities Facilities, offering strategic direction to the technical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Oversee Mechanical Technicians, ensuring effective work order distribution, adherence to timelines, and conducting training sessions.
- Lead a group of maintenance personnel tasked with the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of facility infrastructure and equipment.
- Utility Operations Management:
- Guarantee a consistent utility supply and oversee the management of Utility facilities, meeting operational targets in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), productivity, quality, reliability, and availability.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term operational strategies for Utility facilities.
- Continuously monitor and enhance the operational performance of Utility facilities through regular management assessments.
- Maintenance Oversight:
- Supervise daily preventive maintenance activities across various systems, including Ultra-Pure Water, Process Cooling Water, HVAC, and Wastewater Treatment.
- Manage installations, modifications, upgrades, and repairs of plumbing, piping, and mechanical components.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are executed in accordance with established schedules and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive records of equipment status, maintenance activities, and testing schedules, including fire suppression systems.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and oversee CAPEX budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Manage budget planning for Utility facility operations, optimizing resource utilization.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to meet key performance indicators.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Training and Development:
- Inventory Management:
- Create and implement a spare parts management system to ensure availability of critical components.
- Conduct proactive inventory planning for chemicals necessary for wastewater treatment.
- Emergency Response:
- Act promptly during plant emergencies related to environmental incidents, fires, or security breaches.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols related to Utility facilities operations and maintenance.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or related sector.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of technicians.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with plumbing and building codes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and utilities relevant to the industry.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications are advantageous and will be considered favorably.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Fluency in Korean is an asset.
