Mechanical Facilities Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Facilities Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the design, execution, operation, and upkeep of Mechanical Utilities Facilities, offering strategic oversight to the technical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Oversee Mechanical Technicians, ensuring effective work order distribution, adherence to timelines, and conducting training sessions.
- Lead a group of technicians and maintenance staff dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and preventive upkeep of facility equipment and infrastructure.
- Operational Management:
- Guarantee the reliable supply and management of Utility facilities, meeting operational objectives in EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), Productivity, Quality, Reliability, and Availability.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term operational strategies for Utility facilities.
- Assess and enhance the operational efficiency of Utility facilities through regular performance evaluations.
- Maintenance Oversight:
- Manage daily preventative maintenance activities across various systems, including Ultra-Pure Water, Process Cooling Water, Chilled Water, Cooling Water, Clean Dry Air, Exhaust systems, HVAC, Gas/Chemical supply systems, and Wastewater Treatment.
- Supervise plumbing, piping, and mechanical installations, modifications, upgrades, and repairs.
- Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks on Facilities equipment are executed per the established schedule and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all facilities equipment status, maintenance activities, and scheduled tests, including fire suppression systems.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and oversee CAPEX budgets, ensuring effective execution.
- Manage budget planning for Utility facility operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to meet KPI targets.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Training and Development:
- Inventory Management:
- Create and implement a robust spare parts management system.
- Ensure critical spare parts availability to minimize operational downtime.
- Conduct proactive inventory planning to maintain adequate chemical supplies for wastewater treatment processes.
- Anticipate chemical usage trends and adjust stock levels accordingly.
- Emergency Response:
- Act promptly in response to plant emergencies related to environmental incidents, fires, or security concerns.
- Training:
- Provide training and maintain records for Mechanical Technicians.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety protocols related to the operation and maintenance of Utility facilities.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity within a relevant manufacturing or related sector.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of technicians.
- Technical Skills:
- Fundamental understanding of plumbing and building codes.
- Proficient in mechanical systems and utilities within a comparable industry.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications are advantageous and will be considered a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing environments.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Fluency in Korean is an asset.
