Soundview Consultants is a prominent Environmental Consulting Firm with a solid track record of serving clients and communities. Our focus lies in natural resources assessments, environmental planning, permitting, and compliance services, particularly for projects with aquatic regulatory implications.

We specialize in both marine and terrestrial solutions, including site planning, project design, project coordination, regulatory permitting, and project management. Our expertise encompasses marine, wetland, and stream ecology, habitat restoration, and various assessments and surveys.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a variety of environmental projects related to wetlands, streams, protected habitats, and marine shorelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Leverage prior project management experience in the environmental sector and possess strong technical writing skills.
  • Collaborate daily with fellow team members and support existing Project Managers and Principals.
  • Engage in tasks such as performing wetland and stream delineations, coaching field crews, researching environmental regulations, and preparing environmental permit applications.
  • Senior-level candidates (10+ years) may immediately manage wetland, shoreline, and habitat projects with full support from our team of environmental professionals.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and support habitat restoration and fish passage planning, analysis, and design projects across the Pacific Northwest.
  • Possess 5+ years of experience in river, stream, estuary, and coastal restoration projects, including project management and field assessments.
  • Manage water resources, fish passage, floodplain, and habitat restoration projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses.
  • Participate in field data collection and complete complex analyses and calculations independently and with oversight.
  • Prepare design documents and specifications for restoration projects.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and budgets.
  • Provide direction and oversight to field biologists conducting wetland, stream, habitat, and shoreline assessments.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Environmental Sciences (e.g., biology, wetland science, ecology), Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in planning, consulting, or project management.
  • Strong understanding of fluvial, coastal, floodplain, and estuarine systems, along with experience in GIS and CAD platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wetland assessment methodologies and relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office Products, particularly Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and leadership qualities.
  • Client satisfaction focus and project budget tracking abilities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Valid WA State Driver's License (or ability to obtain) and reliable personal transportation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Compensation:

  • Salary based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Annual Salary Range: $70,000-$105,000
  • Eligible for bi-annual performance-based bonuses.
