Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced engineer with a minimum of 15 years in the field, specializing in the planning and design of river, stream, and floodplain projects.

This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of ecologists, landscape architects, and scientists to create integrated, multi-disciplinary projects in complex ecological environments.

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of projects aimed at mitigation, restoration, flood risk management, and infrastructure protection for both public and private clients.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement river and stream habitat restoration initiatives.
  • Enhance fish passage systems and improve watershed management.
  • Conduct assessments and planning for floodplain and coastal habitat restoration.
  • Stabilize riverbanks and develop flood control measures.
  • Support additional engineering and surface water management efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 15+ years of professional experience in stream and river restoration and floodplain management.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Current professional engineer (PE) license in California, Washington, and/or Oregon.
  • Knowledge of environmental policies and permitting processes in Western states.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with a focus on aquatic ecosystems restoration or related fields.
  • Project management experience in floodplain and restoration design.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
