Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned engineer with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience specializing in the planning and design of river, stream, and floodplain restoration projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, landscape architects, and scientists to create impactful projects in intricate ecological environments.

This role involves supporting various initiatives related to mitigation, restoration, flood risk management, and infrastructure protection for both public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and enhance river and stream habitats.
  • Implement fish passage improvements.
  • Conduct watershed and floodplain assessments.
  • Oversee coastal habitat restoration efforts.
  • Stabilize river and stream banks.
  • Develop flood control strategies.
  • Support infrastructure development and protection.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in stream and river restoration and floodplain management.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Current PE license in California, Washington, or Oregon, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of Western state environmental policies and permitting processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree focusing on aquatic ecosystem restoration or related fields.
  • Experience managing floodplain and restoration design projects.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
