Job Summary

An Insurance Balance Resolution Specialist at Riverview Health is responsible for resolving outstanding insurance balances of moderate to high complexity. This role involves following up with payers via various channels to resolve outstanding balances efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve higher dollar, aged accounts receivable to determine the cause of non-payment and take necessary actions to get the claim paid promptly.
  • Promptly resolve denials by identifying the root cause and taking necessary actions to get the denial overturned and paid promptly.
  • Collaborate with payers, departments, management, and patients (if required) to obtain necessary information for claim resolution.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and ensure collecting information on trends and responding to inquiries about trends.
  • Perform necessary account adjustments in accordance with department policies.
  • Ensure assigned work queues are reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor assigned work queues and payers for potential problems and proactively escalate unresolved questions or issues.
  • Share information as necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience working with insurance balances in a business office or similar role.
  • Preferred: Three years of insurance follow-up experience working in Epic EMR handling claims of moderate to high complexity.
