Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to enhance our HR operations at CMES, Inc., a prominent civil construction firm. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who can effectively navigate the complexities of human resources within the construction sector.


Key Responsibilities
  • HR Liaison: Maintain a strong presence on project sites, providing HR guidance on internal processes, policies, and compliance.
  • Recruitment and Training: Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of new personnel within the department.
  • Workflow Management: Supervise the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with leadership to implement the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, focusing on recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
  • Support and Guidance: Offer support to HR generalists and management on complex HR issues, including accommodations and investigations.
  • Relationship Building: Foster collaborative relationships to promote the company’s core values of Respect, Trust, Dedication, and Appreciation.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and corporate policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • A degree in Human Resource Administration or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in supervising HR functions.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry, particularly with craft and field employees.

Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience with HR software such as Heavy Jobs, Key Style, or Vista.

Communication Skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization.


Reasoning Ability

Proficient in solving practical problems and addressing diverse variables in less standardized situations.


Physical Demands

The role may require occasional physical activities such as sitting, talking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment

The position involves working in proximity to construction activities, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
